Free local .cube LUT tool

Apply LUT to photo online, with both files kept on your device.

Upload a photo, import a compatible 3D .cube LUT, adjust its strength, and compare it with the original before exporting. The photo and LUT stay in this browser.

A LUT changes color; it does not understand the photograph.

A 3D LUT maps incoming RGB values to new RGB values. That makes a standard .cube file portable between compatible tools, but it cannot identify skin, recover a clipped sky, correct exposure, add a local mask, or decide which part of the frame matters.

Display-ready creative LUTs made for normal sRGB images are the safest starting point. A camera Log conversion LUT expects its matching Log input; applying it directly to a finished JPG can create excessive contrast, clipped highlights, or incorrect color. FilmFX applies the mapping you provide and gives you a strength control—it does not invent the missing input transform.

Apply a LUT in three deliberate steps

  1. 01

    Upload one photo

Open a JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, or HEIF photo up to 20 MB. FilmFX decodes and edits it locally in this browser.

  2. 02

    Import a 3D .cube LUT

Choose a 2–65 point 3D LUT up to 30 MB. FilmFX checks the file, stores it in this browser, and selects it when the import succeeds.

  3. 03

    Compare, adjust, and export

Drag the divider across important colors, lower or raise the LUT strength, then export JPG, PNG, or WebP at the original size or a smaller preset.

Questions before you start

Which .cube LUT files does FilmFX support?+

FilmFX supports 3D .cube LUTs from 2 to 65 points, up to 30 MB each. It does not support 1D LUTs or combined shaper LUTs, and invalid or incomplete files are rejected with an error message.

Why does a camera Log LUT look wrong on my JPG?+

A Log LUT expects a particular flat camera signal before the creative mapping is applied. A normal JPG, PNG, or phone photo is usually display-ready sRGB instead, so the same LUT can produce excessive contrast or incorrect color. Use a display-ready LUT or prepare the expected input in a color-managed editor first.

Are my photo and LUT uploaded?+

No. The photo is processed locally, and imported LUTs are saved only in this browser's IndexedDB. FilmFX does not receive the files or add a watermark to the export.

Can I change the LUT strength and keep the original image size?+

Yes. Adjust the recipe-strength slider, compare it with the original, and choose Original in export settings. FilmFX renders the download from the full source pixels, subject to the existing 24-megapixel export safety limit.
