Add a photo date stamp, with the date you choose.

Turn on the date stamp to add today's date in the bottom-right corner. Change the date or styling if you like. Original color stays selected unless you choose a filter.

Same photo, with a visible date

Original color, orange digits at 4%. The date 1998-07-24 is an illustrative label, not the capture date of this sample.

A sunny travel photograph before adding any visible date or color filter.
Original
The same travel photograph with the illustrative date 1998-07-24 in orange film digits at the bottom left; this is not a verified capture date.
Photo date stamp

A visible date, not a change to the photo's history.

A photo date stamp becomes part of the picture: useful for a travel album, a family print or an intentionally retro edit. Choose an unambiguous year-month-day format when the photo will be shared across countries. Keep the lettering clear of faces and important details.

FilmFX starts with today's date as an editable suggestion, not a verified capture date. It does not read EXIF; check the date yourself. The downloaded image contains that visible text but does not preserve EXIF or GPS metadata. Keep your original if you need the camera's record, and do not use a decorative stamp as proof of when a photo was taken.

Put a date on a photo in three steps

  1. 01

    Choose your photo and date

Upload a supported photo and turn on Show date on photo. Today's date appears immediately in the bottom-right corner. Edit it if needed; it is not read from the camera's metadata.

  2. 02

    Set the lettering and corner

The orange film digits are ready to use. Open More settings to change the lettering, date order, corner or size. Keep the text clear of the subject, and crop first if needed.

  3. 03

    Download a stamped copy

Download JPG, PNG or WebP with the visible date included. Keep the source file separately: the exported stamp is no longer an editable text layer.

Questions before you start

Can I add a date without applying a filter?+

Yes. Original is selected on this page. Choose your date and style, then download. You can add a film look or import a .cube LUT separately, but neither is required.

Does this read or update the EXIF capture date?+

No. It adds visible lettering to the image pixels. Today is only the starting value; check or change it yourself. FilmFX neither verifies the date nor writes it as EXIF DateTimeOriginal. Exports do not retain the source metadata.

Can I stamp several photos automatically?+

Not as a batch. Process one photo at a time. The date and styling remain selected when you change photos, so verify the date before each download or turn the stamp off.

Can I remove the date after downloading?+

Not as a separate layer in the exported JPG, PNG or WebP. Turn off Show date on photo and export again while the original is still open, or upload your untouched original to start over.

Keep editing, or learn what the date means

Add texture or a snapshot look separately, and understand which date belongs on your photo.
