The eighties were never one color palette.

A family album, a fashion magazine, and a slide projected on a wall never had the same colors. Our 1980s photo effect takes the color-print route: softer blacks, warm bright areas, slightly cool deep shadows, and a little grain. It is a creative interpretation, not a replica of a particular film stock or camera.

The selected 80s Print filter is gentler than Cross Process. Red paint should still look red, and blue denim should stay blue. Skin and white clothing are good checkpoints: if either turns too yellow, bring the strength down. The comparison above uses this same filter, not a separate CSS tint.

    Start with light and color worth keeping

    Daylight portraits, parked cars, colorful storefronts, and family snapshots give this faded-print treatment something to work with. Keep the original framing or crop distractions before editing.

    Try 80s Print at 65–80%

    Check skin and white clothing first. The highlights should feel a little warmer, not yellow. Lower the strength if a scene is already warm; try Cross Process separately if you want a much stronger color cast.
