The 35mm feeling is more than grain.

Small-format film often feels lively because color, grain, and contrast are all visible at once. Warm highlights and slightly imperfect shadows can make family photographs and travel snapshots feel immediate without forcing an artificial old-photo overlay.

Start with the default UltraMax 400–inspired recipe on a daylight frame. Move the strength to around 60%, then inspect a face, a white surface and a shadow. If skin or yellow walls drift orange, lower it further. For a warmer family-album direction compare Gold 200; for quieter street color try Classic Chrome. Keep the same photo and strength while comparing, then adjust Texture in the studio if you need more grain.
