Soft glow follows highlights instead of blurring every detail.
A bright window, a sunlit edge, or a small lamp can feel abrupt in a very crisp digital photo. Soft Glow spreads some of that existing brightness into nearby areas, creating a mild bloom and softer transitions. The editor builds the bloom from your photo's highlights and includes it in the download. FilmFX's original treatment borrows the idea of photographic diffusion without claiming to match a particular lens filter or camera mode.
Try backlit hair, sheer curtains, bright water, or lamps in a darker room. Start gently and compare the edge of the light with nearby skin and fabric. Too much bloom can hide the details you wanted to keep, especially around white clothing. A flat, evenly lit image may show less glow because it has fewer distinct bright sources. Soft Glow is mostly neutral; if you want colored red-orange halos around night lights, try Halation Nights in the Cinematic collection.
